Overview
Chopta
Chopta is a birding paradise and you can see over 240 species of birds here, including native and migratory species like Himalayan monal, Himalayan swiftlet, Himalayan griffon, scarlet finch, hill partridge, and so on. Chopta is also referred to as Mini Switzerland for its meadows and lush green pastures is located on an altitude of 2700 meters. Chopta is rich in flora and fauna with dense forests around and a variety of Rhododendron and Deodar trees.
Chandrashila
Chandrashila is the summit of the Tungnath peak. It literally means ‘Moon Rock’. It is located at a height of about 4,000 meters (13,000 feet) above sea level. This peak provides a spectacular view of Himalayas, especially Nandadevi, Trisul, Kedar Peak, Bandar punch and Chaukhamba peaks.

Itinerary
DELHI TO CHOPTA
- Begin your adventure from Delhi by 9:00 p.m. on an AC vehicle
- Reach Rishikesh in a beautiful morning and then proceed after taking a short break.
- Reach Chopta around noon.
- Check-in to the camps, Freshen up, lunch will be served.
- Acclimatize and later in the evening go for the excursion.
- Dinner and overnight stay at camps.
TREK TO TUNGNATH AND CHANDRASHILA
- An early rise to enjoy a beautiful Chopta sunrise.
- start your trek to Tungnath and Chandrashila to get the mesmerizing view of the sun rising from behind the mountains.
- From tungnath is a steep climb to Chandrashila. You are now at Chandrashila peak which literally means the ‘moonrock’.
- Spend your mesmerizing time at the Chandrashila peak and later trek down to Chopta by evening.
- Have Dinner and overnight stay.
CHOPTA – DEORITAL - DEPARTURE
- Wake up, in between the mighty mountains, and have breakfast.
- Later check out the camps and begin your 2.5 km trip towards Deoria Tal.
- Witness astonishing and the beautiful view of the lake, which is engulfed by greenery and snow-covered mountain tops.
- On reaching the location, pack your luggage and start descending at around 2:00 p.m.
- You would reach Delhi by the next day early in the morning and end the trip with lovely memories.
